To avoid as much contention as possible I wanted to give everyone a heads up on some blogging rules. For most of you none of these rules will be a concern. For the everyone else - its better left in writing than as unspoken guidelines. So here they are.

Blog Contest Rules

1. NO SPAMMING. If you spam - your posts will be deleted and your account will be suspended. For the purposes of GameRiot; blog spam can be defined as posting more than once with the space of fifteen minutes. So you are maxed at four posts an hour. Repeat offenders will be banned.

2. NO USELESS CRAP. If you post a blog that says "I am Fred, I love donkeys and cakes." it will be deleted as will other nonsensical, inane, and banal gibberish. Ridiculous posts are what the WoW forums are for. Repeat offenders will be banned.

3. NO PORNOGRAPHY. As much as well all want to run a porn site - we aren't one. So don't post it here. Repeat offenders will be banned.

4. READ THE TOS. It contains information you need to know before posting. It also has some redundancy with material written in these rules. So you can't miss it.

5. DON'T PLAGIARIZE. If you notice someone else plagiarizing be sure to point it out in comments and provide a link to the original material. If you are caught plagiarizing you won't be banned but you will be disqualified from the contest. Otherwise, citing your sources is fine. If you don't know what citations are, check here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citation. Repeat offenders will be banned.

Don't forget, you're writing (mostly) about gaming and the internet. This should be fun. Follow the rules above and those outlined in the TOS and everything should be fine. Again, the prizes are:
