About two feet from me is 10 hours of "Super Smash Bros. Brawl" tournament footage from the past month. And the moment I stop typing this, I'm going to start hacking away. However, I wanted to take time out to ask for advice. After about 1,300 videos produced, I think it's time to up the ante.  I would like to enhance the videos. No, I'm not talking about H.G.H. or steroids. Rather, I want to provide statistics, past history, player profiles as people are watching the action.…

Girls & video gamesMost of us guys take this truth to be self-evident. Let's delve in this universe where Tide flows like wine and free time is spent washing dishes. I should say that this article was inspired by Ming's post about Hafu and the recent CGS Draft in TX. This past week was in a sense sad for the eSports community.. and on another hand it was simply hillarious. This article is misogynistic, sexist, satirical, rude, blunt, offensive, not politically correct, and probably illegal. …

The Evil Genius organization seems to be undergoing a huge face lift, announcing the acquisition of an Unreal Tournament 3 squad, The Doctors as their Call of Duty 4 team, and unveiling a revamped version of their Canadian Counter-Strike 1.6 team in the span of a month. Even with all of these changes, EG has just announced another huge move, acquiring the #1 ranked American Counter-Strike 1.6 team, eMazing Gaming, formerly known as Fear Factor. Now the eMg team will be representing EG as their American Counter-Strike 1.6 team, alongside the organization's current Canadian squad.…

Below is something that I don't even remember writing. I found this in 'My Documents' when I was cleaning up some stuff earlier, and was like "Wow, when the hell did I write this?" But anyway, I felt I was lacking on the whole GameRiot Blog thing, so I figured I'd toss it up here In today's ever growing society, the usual jobs still remain. We still have fast food employees, construction workers, doctors, nurses and pro sports players. However, among these jobs a new occupation is beginnin…

David "Renji^" Strausser gives us his first article after transferring from the staff of LA CompLexity. In this article, he will discuss the upcoming draft rule changes, and how they should effect the overall strategies when it comes to picks. He also goes as far as to predicting who he think each of the General Managers will choose as their four protected players. With the Combine and Draft less than two weeks away, things are starting to become a little more clear amongst the confusion, but …

Source: FPSTrainersBlog.com Article Source: http://www.fpstrainersblog.com/...Not every player has the innate ability to magically deal with nerves and adrenaline. If you're like me, you've got all your demos (including the one where you may or may not have been deathmatching with Ksharp and knifed him three times) sitting in a folder or on a DVD somewhere, just waiting for the day when you're motivated to make a little movie of your time in eSports. But we can't be bothered to make a movie now, we've got a scrim!Oooh, and we've got the WoW raid in a few hours. Then there's anime to watch, idiots to flame on the forums, food to eat, beds to sleep in, and ma…

I started writing this yesterday, and I was going to include it in a piece with the controversy surrounding Warden, Sasquatch, and the infamous match. Then people threw some extra kerosene on the fire -- gallons and gallons of kerosene --- along with a firecracker or two, and I changed my mind. There's so much to say about the other situation that this subtopic completely lost its place. If nine out of ten words were going to be about the "bribery", or whatever we want to call it, I might …

It came down to the wire in the CEVO-P Source Finals when the Dallas Venom and San Francisco Optx played to a tie through three maps and needed one Overtime round to decide it all. When the round was over, the Venom disconnected as the winners of CEVO-P and $5,000 richer. The Finals was a Best-of-Three format, with the maps being Dust2, Inferno, and Nuke. Dust2 and Inferno proved to be lopsided for each team, as Dallas took a 1-0 series lead behind a 10-3 victory. kaM starred early in the match fo…

The Dallas Venom eliminated Team Pandemic from the CEVO-P Playoffs and move on to face the San Francisco Optx in the CEVO-P Finals. Corey "kaM" Hanes came up big for the Venom in both halves, picking up key entry kills as a CT to help Dallas to an 8-1 lead after the first half. He was 13-2 after five rounds and finished 19-5, including two defuses. He played Inner on the CT half of Train but picked up most of his kills through the first five rounds rotating to outside as Pandemic split the outer …

Source: FPSTrainersBlog.com Article Source: http://www.fpstrainersblog.com/...I think everyone will agree deathmatching is entertaining. It’s always fun to deathmatch, it gives you a sense of freedom. Freedom to run guns blazing through a map without the worry of death. However, the question remains; Is deathmatching effective from the competitive gamers vantage point?  The argument stands. Will deathmatching help your aim and contribute to better gun control when firing your weap…
