Morning news is ready for your readership.  Analysis of this months gaming sales, Uwe Boll, Fallout 3, all sorts of goodies to satisfy the eye.Next Generation has a nice Fallout 3 preview up.  One of the cool features this time around is your actions will dictate peoples opinions of you, and options you may have later in the game.I saw this Team Fortress 2 video the other night and I was quite impressed.  Having logged a couple hundred hours on it myself, this is something I have …

Over the weekend I missed out on some news on the potential return of Kid Icarus to the Nintendo Wii platform.  Kid Icarus is of a course a classic NES title that has yet to see a follow up in any of Nintendo's consoles since.  A rarity among modern games, a classic title that has yet to be milked for dollars via sequels and spin offs.  Kombo.com has some concept art that is supposedly from the game.  There have been rumors of Icarus being one of the next big Wii titles, incl…

Today, Nintendo will kick off "WiiWare", their answer to the wildly popular Xbox Live Arcade. Similar to Arcade, WiiWare allows users to download games and applications onto their Wii at the cost of points. Ranging from $5-15, the initial downloads are consisting of 1-4 player games and look actually pretty decent. Check out the entire list of game and more news on the release as they roll out today.

Short post today, but I figure instead of a "rant" rant, I would rant about two games I played recently that I truly enjoyed. Those being Mario Kart Wii, and The World Ends With You. Promise though, a "rant" rant for everyone either tomorrow or soon at the very least.Mario Kart Wii is just great fun, way better then any of its previous versions. Some new items added in call for some severe swearing (particularly the lightning bolt), but it won't drive anyone mad... and isn't that always the case…

We have some big game releases confirmed for later on this year in today's edition of the news, the Friday edition, and we are going out on a bang.Call of Duty (5) is set for this fiscal year.  That doesn't necessarily mean this calendar year as the fiscal year ends at the end of March.  But a pre-holiday release most likely means more sales than a late winter release.  The game will feature a new locale, and be on six different platforms.  (PC, PS3, 360, Wii.... DS and PSP?)…

If we take just a moment, let's think back one generation of console games. Playstation 2 and Xbox had it under their thumbs, good profits and good followings, with Gamecube trying its best. But while Xbox was successful, if you didn't play only one or two types of games... a Playstation 2 would do anyone fine for gaming. It had fine titles, at least 3 really good ones, for EVERY genre you could have an interest in.Then the systems grew old, and the new batch came out. Easily the closest competi…

Welcome back for another round of the morning news on me!Madden 09 gameplay in action.  Seems there are decent visual upgrades this year, and from the video we can see that the "weapon system" is back.  Thanks to IGN for the goods.Mandatory video game buying ID checks?  This I actually have no problem with, especially if it keeps the government off the industry's back, and keeps away regulation.  Might be a good move to aid in getting mature+ games out of kids hands.  Th…

Morning news is here for you to catch up on the gaming world's announcements and news.Apparently Grand Theft Auto 4 set sales records up the rear.  6 million copies sold last week, 3.6 million in one day, and over 500 million dollars in sales.  That smashes Halo 3's record from September of 300 million in it's first week.Sony's hit game Drakes Uncharted, a mix of Indiana Jones and Gears of War, may be heading to a movie theater near you.More on GTA 4.  Apparently the game has deth…

Everyone can't deny that GTA IV is the biggest title for the casual audience this year. Yea I said casual. The Wii has so far been the head and toes leader of this generation, but GTA could slow down some of that Wii momentum. Even though GTA is inherently a hardcore game, it reaches the whole hardcore audience and beyond to basically 95% or more of males who like games. If you think about it, that crosses into Wii territory. It shows the weakest flaws of the system in its meek online offering and the gimped hardware it uses. Will anything close to GTA 4 ever show up on the Wii? No. Will this probably impact sales greatly? No. Your grandma will still be buying them like hotcakes. So will your mom. But it will make your older brother think again about picking one up with GTA IV out now. And if Nintendo can't get their Q3 and Q4 first party titles out there and have them be good for the semi/hardcore crowd, they might just have their wheels fall off on the hardcore totally. …

Arguments have raged for the ages over which console is the greatest (usually people siding with whatever they own in a vein attempt to make their purchase superior) which have never resulted in anything. I've never heard anyone say 'Oh damn you're right, my console is useless'.One thing that changes with every new generation are controllers, from the joysticks of the Atari to our current generation we have gone through alot of good and bad controllers and I think its time to have a look at the …

How many times have you bought the same game?Last week I purchased Mike Tyson's Punch out on the Nintendo Wii.  Of course, I bought the same game 20 years ago, for the original 8 bit Nintendo.  So, somehow Nintendo got me to buy the same game twice, to run on their proprietary hardware.   Many users see this as something good (Oh cool, I can retro game!) not realizing they're being ripped off!  I mean, should I really have to pay again for Mike Tyson's punch out?  E…

Kind of a slow news day so far, so this morning news may be a bit on the small side.  Nintendo tries to justify why their online mode sucks so bad.  Apparently it is a feature!  Who would have thought eh?  Security and easy of use were key in these descisions.Uwe Boll is now challenging Michael Bay to a boxing match and this is what Bay has to say about that.  Bay probably would get his ass kicked.  We have seen Uwe fight a member of the press already and that didn'…

Morning news is back in action with a midweek edition.  GTA4 finally arrives here today, but I promise to pry myself away for more news as the day goes on.  Vega and Balrog are on the way to Street Fighter 4.  Check out the images over this way.  This leaves all the bosses from SF2 shown so far besides M. Bison.  I would assume he is going to make the cut.Could God of War 3 feature online play?  A current job opening SCEA has up seems to point in that direction. The …

Thursday, I was greeted with an excited friend at our local electronics store for our weekly browse of all things games, music, dvds and hot store workers. He was excited as he had managed to grab hold of the last copy of Mario Kart Wii from what looked to be a giant display of the game. He was short on cash so I lent him the money for the game (aren't I nice) and continued to spend the better half of an hour browsing all things Xbox and Dvd before picking up Mass Effect, House Season 3 and AVP-R (I'm a sucker for alien films) to go along with the purchase.…
