Morning news is ready for your readership.  Analysis of this months gaming sales, Uwe Boll, Fallout 3, all sorts of goodies to satisfy the eye.Next Generation has a nice Fallout 3 preview up.  One of the cool features this time around is your actions will dictate peoples opinions of you, and options you may have later in the game.I saw this Team Fortress 2 video the other night and I was quite impressed.  Having logged a couple hundred hours on it myself, this is something I have …

Yeah, that's right, TF2 Achievements. What are they good for? Nothing. And I'll tell you why. First off, people say that achievements add something new to the game, keeps it 'Fresh'. Sorry, it doesn't. Adding new maps, or classes, or modes, keeps the game fresh. When you have idiots running around and focusing more on the achievements then the game, then you have a problem. People still play Counter Strike, and nothing new has been put into that game in a long time. I don't really play TF2 that m…

(image thanks to Gamespy)For those of you in the world who haven't played Team Fortress 2 for whatever reasons, yet do enjoy FPS games Valve has some good news for you.  Team Fortress 2 is in the midst of a "play for free" weekend.  So from now till Sunday at 1PM PDT you can enjoy one of my favorite FPS games for free. This week featured one of the biggest updates in the games history so far with a pretty pimp new map named Goldrush, and new achievements for those annoying medics. …

Morning news is back in action with a midweek edition.  GTA4 finally arrives here today, but I promise to pry myself away for more news as the day goes on.  Vega and Balrog are on the way to Street Fighter 4.  Check out the images over this way.  This leaves all the bosses from SF2 shown so far besides M. Bison.  I would assume he is going to make the cut.Could God of War 3 feature online play?  A current job opening SCEA has up seems to point in that direction. The …

We have talked about this update non stop since it first was mentioned by Robin Walker way way back and now it is coming our way Tuesday afternoon.  It is too hard to keep track of just how long thanks to Valve Time (yes it exists, and it is pretty damn funny). The long awaited Payload style of game play is coming to add to the current control point and capture the flag maps.  The first map to feature this "escort" style map is Goldrush where your objective is to push a cart full of exp…

Today, Valve continued their hilarious video series for Team Fortress 2 and has released the "Meet The Scout" video. Personally, I've waited to see how they were going to portray their quick, flag-capping class in a video, and believe me, it's even better than those previously posted. Enjoy.

Welcome to first of many weekly editions of Slapnut's Top Five.  After dabbling in with a top five list a couple weeks ago based on boss battles I figured why not make this a reoccurring theme.  Of course this is my own damn opinion; you will find no pool of "experts" here.  If you agree or disagree I want your opinions, so let's have them.  This column will mainly focus on gaming but every now and then I may throw in random things likes sports, entertainment, politics, etc.&…

New details have emerged on the new medic weapons which are on the way for Team Fortress 2.  Later next week we should have this update, and Goldrush the new payload map.  As Valve noted a while back that it should come the week of the 20th, and usually updates are on Thursday. The BlutsaugherThe first 12 new medic achievements will get you this new syringe gun.  Every syringe hit will take 3 health from a enemy, however you lack the ability to get critical hits with this gun. …

Like aforgotten birthday of a close relative, CEVO's TF2 championship matches have snuck up on us and will take place tonight; Team Pandemic vs 20ID in the Professional division and Legacy vs Money Shot in the Amateur division. Featuring a best-of-three format, the best the top 2 teams in North America will face off tonight (again) to decide who will reign supreme over what's left of the TF2 community.Though, I'm fairly unfamiliar with Money Shot or Legacy, I have watched both 20ID and Pan…

The Swedish Quake star Magnus "fojji" Olsson was interview by the German TF2 site, MyTeamFortress.de, about his new involvment with TF2 and why he chose this new gaming path. MyTeamFortress.de: In Quake people fought for the items, now that place was taken by the Capture Points, aren't there some similiarities?fojji: Health boxes (and since the recent patch, ammo boxes) are sometimes crucial in TF2 as well so that's a kind of item control. The spawn-times are ridiculously easy though so it do…
