So, Season 4 should be arriving soon-ish, and I've been playing on a Private Server mixing and matching all different types of available mage gear, trying different gems/enchants e.t.cWe sure do get a lot of tasty spell pen gear, makes taking down felpup's for CS-->SS Fel Dom a hella-lot easier, but at the expense of damage, int (and therefore crit), and resilience (wearing all the haste/spell pen gear gives 10 more HP than wearing the spell damage equivalents). But is it worth it? I'm not ful…

After my "we don't have a single rogue in top four" article, Valrath from TSG send me a PM and said lock/lock/druid is their fun comp, and their real comp is rogue/lock/druid.  Now Ezmac the TSG rogue had significantly less games played than Valrath the warlock when I read the PM, so it was hard to believe.  I am not sure if TSG tried to make a point, but Ezmac's games played went way up, and their ratings went down 100 points.  What for?  Lock/lock/druid is significantly better than rogue/lock/druid against the majority of the teams out there, if TSG doesn't make top four this would be the equivalent of their choke against SK in BG9 5v5 tourney when a 2-0 lead turned into a 2-3 loss.…

http://www.mlgpro.com/?q=node/214079So the tournament directors have reversed their previous decision and ARE allowing macros, proving that enough people *****ing about rules CAN actually change them. 3rd party mods are still disallowed, but hey who cares! And I'm flip-flopping and now saying its a good thing.

Many of you probably already know of Viole, female irl. She has the unique and rare physical capability of licking her own elbow. This gives her a clear advantage in arena. Really though, think it's a coincidence her AP minus her haste rating is ~equal to her 2v2 rating? I don't. I know what's going on here. She makes it all clear in her drawings:Can you make the patterns? Can you read the message?

So yesterday I reunited with an old friend (Used to run Shadowpriest Warlock on him, did extremely well with the comp) to play some 2's and recover some personal rating. After the point selling fiasco (Which I was only around for 1 week to pull off the amazing profit from) my teams rating was about 600 points above my personal rating. So we made discipline priest SLSLwarlock, and off we went on our happy day of playing 2's. I quickly realized that there is a problem with this new "Arena balance s…

Tourney realm developmentsThe latest updates on the tourney realm show a lot of big changes to numerous teams, with many of them avoiding competition altogether. Oh how it must feel to play in a balanced game when everyone refuses to risk a loss to a team they can't defeat because of team composition.Armed with the significant advantages that shadowpriest/UAlock/resto shaman had in season 2 (namely no armor penetration), Mazud's team, from my understanding, is completely feared among all of the …

MLG has clarified the no-macro rule applies to both in-game and keyboard macros. Also 3rd party mods will not be allowed in the competition http://www.mlgpro.com/?q=node/2140794. Players may not use 3rd party Add-ons. 5. Players may not change the Computer/Monitor sound and video settings. 6. All User Interface setups will be confined to the Blizzard default options. Also season 2 not 3 gear will be used.So why is getting rid of macros a bad thing when all MLG is doing is advancing the comp…

While talking to GC the other day, it became quite apparent that BG9 is becoming increasingly stale to the point where players are beginning to abandon it in favor of other battlegrounds. All of the recent bannings apparently aren't helping much either. Alas, Hoodrych, Yog, Clicker, an old Ner'zhul original Tyrrana, and GC, all picked up and transfered to Mal'Ganis. Granted, I don't personally think they will find anything but an easy ride to merciless gladiator, a change of pace and escape from moronic 12dps teams is never a bad thing. According to GC, they're all excited for the QT Blood Elves like Faction anyway.…

There is a huge interview with some World of Warcraft designers and producer J. Allen Brack over at Eurogamer today in regards to WoW, and Wrath of the Lich King.  The interview covers the Death Knight, 10 person raid groups,  "the grind", and the transition of the game away from PvE towards PvP.But the most interesting news of all may be this quote in response to a overhaul of the engine:"That's actually something we talk about every expansion... Will we need a graphical update from t…

With all the talks about how WOW (and shadowstep rogues for that matter) require so little skills to play, it is amazing how poorly I played tonight after almost a month's worth of inactivity.  I was falling off bridges left and right Ohnoes style, and missing all sort of kicks, KS's and vanish CS/garrote's.  Maybe it is also the jet lag and the fact that I only slept 5 hours a night since I came back, but I was slow at everything.  Thankfully I wisely chose to warm up in 2v2 around 2200, playing rogue/rogue with Stryfe the warglaive rogue.  His amazing ability to single handedly take a priest from 100 to 0 off one full energy kidney shot kept our ratings steady.   Had I started the week with my 2400 3v3, I think we would be 2200 by now . . . …

EDIT: It looks like Mendacious Ming wasn't as full of crap as I thought he was on his last blog. He's still a lying pile of garbage, though. After finally getting back on my paladin recently because my rogue teammate wanted to do some 2v2 again (pally/rogue), we learned a lot of fun things after our first match.1) Both of our personal ratings were at like 1800 while our team rating was 2284. We realized after our first match (which led to a loss of 30 because I got my new trinket and forgot to bi…

It's time again for a new topic for our soon to be announced WoW competition: Is stacking classes in 3vs3-tournament something that we should prohibit?   Most of you might have seen the WoW-matches at Sweden's Dreamhack in early December. HARP used to be the new Flavor of the Month for Rogues and the MoB came up with the idea to use two rogues to beat certain comps. Seeing Zecks and company ripping apart their opponent's Warlock felt kind of cheesy and unstoppable.   Nowadays HA…

There is so much talk about "how game X will kill WoW" or "how expansion will ruin the game" but, my impression is totally different. Cause if you will look really close, it's other way around - WoW players are killing not only warcraft but, also OTHER games in the process.I'm following Warhammer and Age of Conan development very closely and that includes their respective forums and all I can see is how WoW players are trying to make those games similar as much as possible to.. Warcarft - the ga…

Today I finally had a chance to play the Warhammer closed beta, and so far, I'm actually quite impressed. Even though in total I've only played a very limited amount, I jumped directly into RvR combat with pre-made characters and have been testing a lot of the currently implemented classes. In the following, I'll be covering what I can while being careful not to break any laws or agreements(lol).I'm really enjoying the combat, and I think it has a lot of time to mature over Age of Conan (not to …
