BlizzCon 2026: Blizzard Reveals Open-World StarCraft Shooter, Targeting 2030

Blizzard Entertainment dropped one of the biggest surprises of BlizzCon 2026 during its opening ceremony, officially announcing a brand-new StarCraft game, this time reimagined as an open-world, story-driven shooter. It marks the first new entry in the beloved franchise in nearly a decade, and the first time the series has stepped outside the real-time strategy genre it helped define. The project is being led by a former Far Cry creative director, lending the title serious open-world pedigree right out of the gate.
