Privacy Policy

Overview
GameRiot ("we", "us") aggregates and curates gaming news, and lets registered users follow games, bookmark stories, and comment. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it's handled.
Information we collect
Account information. If you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects your email address, username, and profile image, along with sign-in metadata. We store a copy of this profile data, plus any privacy settings you configure.
Activity data. We store the games you follow, stories you bookmark, and comments you post, so we can show them back to you and other users where applicable.
Usage data. Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure providers automatically log standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and reliability purposes.
How we use information
- To operate your account and keep you signed in
- To personalize your feed based on games you follow
- To display your comments, username, and profile image to other users
- To maintain the security and integrity of the site
Third parties
We use third-party services to run GameRiot, including Clerk for authentication and Supabase for data storage. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We don't sell your personal information.
Your choices
You can update or delete your profile information, adjust privacy settings, and remove your comments and bookmarks at any time from your account. Deleting your account removes your profile and associated activity from GameRiot.
Children's privacy
GameRiot is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as GameRiot evolves. We'll update the date above when we do, and material changes will be reflected here.
