Crimson Desert Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in First Half of 2027

Pearl Abyss has confirmed that Crimson Desert, one of the biggest games of 2026, is being planned for a Nintendo Switch 2 release in the first half of 2027. The developer says the game has "reached a playable baseline" on Nintendo's hybrid handheld, a promising sign for a port of what has proven to be a substantial commercial hit. With sales already crossing a notable milestone, Pearl Abyss is clearly eager to bring the title to as wide an audience as possible, and the Switch 2's growing install base makes it an attractive target.

Beyond the port announcement, Pearl Abyss also signaled its longer-term ambitions for the game. The studio sees "significant potential" for multiplayer in Crimson Desert and has mentioned "live service operation models" as part of its thinking going forward. That suggests the game's life on Switch 2, and potentially other platforms, could extend well beyond a standard single-player experience, with ongoing content and connected play potentially on the horizon.
