Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Dated for April 8, 2027, with Sephiroth and Vincent DLC Confirmed

Square Enix finally put a firm date on the long-awaited conclusion to its Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy. During a PlayStation State of Play on September 3, 2026, director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will launch on April 8, 2027. The announcement was accompanied by a 10-minute gameplay deep dive showcasing locations like Wutai, Highwind exploration, the returning Queen's Blood card game, side quests, and more, giving fans the most substantial look yet at the trilogy's finale.

Alongside the release date, Square Enix confirmed that Revelation will receive two story DLC expansions after launch. One focuses on fan-favorite villain Sephiroth, while the second centers on Vincent Valentine and the Turks. The DLC was previously hinted at by Hamaguchi, who had framed any such additions as bonus story content rather than content cut from the base game. The news delighted fans but also means the definitive end of the remake trilogy is still some ways off even after the April 2027 launch.

On the physical release front, Square Enix announced Day One, Deluxe, and Collector's Edition versions of the game. The Collector's Edition features a highly praised statue, though it comes with a steep price tag. A separate FF7 Remake Series Complete Edition, priced at around $500 and featuring display pieces for all three games in the trilogy, was also revealed, though that bundle is currently Japan-only. A Nintendo Switch 2 version of Revelation was also confirmed as part of the broader physical release announcement.
