God of War Laufey Gets a Release Date, and Kratos Is Coming Back After

Santa Monica Studio's Cory Barlog took the stage at the God of War Laufey panel to confirm that the Faye-starring spin-off will launch on February 16, 2027, giving players their first concrete look at the franchise's next chapter. The announcement drew a strong reaction from the crowd, capping off what IGN described as a packed and eventful SDCC panel for the series.

But Barlog wasn't finished. The creative head also revealed that a new Kratos-led God of War game is already in development and will follow God of War Laufey, with the two titles sharing a direct narrative connection. Faye's story, it turns out, is deeply tied to whatever comes next for her husband. While no title, platforms, or release window were shared for the Kratos game, the confirmation alone signals that PlayStation and Santa Monica Studio are planning a multi-game arc that threads both characters' stories together.
