Kurtaj, a member of the notorious Lapsus$ hacking group, was originally handed an indefinite hospital sentence in 2023 after a jury found him responsible for the leak but deemed him unfit to stand trial. Judges opted for the secure hospital placement partly because Kurtaj reportedly refused to stop hacking even while in custody.
