Resident Evil Requiem DLC Will Dive Deep Into Oswell Spencer's Story

The upcoming story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem is set to put one of the series' most iconic antagonists front and center. One of the game's writers has teased, and apparently partially let slip, that the expansion will revolve around Oswell Spencer, the shadowy co-founder of the Umbrella Corporation whose machinations have loomed over the franchise since its earliest entries. The revelation came across multiple outlets on October 7, 2026, igniting significant buzz among fans eager to learn more about what comes next for Requiem's post-launch content.

According to reports from Destructoid, Polygon, VGC, and TheGamer, the writer's comments suggest the DLC will help players develop a deeper understanding of Spencer and his motivations, potentially exploring aspects of his backstory that the main game left untouched. The disclosure appears to have been at least partly unintentional, with some outlets describing it as the writer "letting slip" a major detail, though the confirmation itself now seems unambiguous. Capcom has not yet issued an official announcement with full details, leaving fans to speculate on the scope and timeline of the expansion.
