Rogue Point Hits v1.0, Exits Steam Early Access with New Map, Boss, and Mod Support

Crowbar Collective and Team17 have launched the v1.0 version of four-player co-op tactical shooter Rogue Point, bringing the game out of Steam Early Access on August 4, 2026. The full release adds a fifth map called The Clinic, filled with confining corridors, three new weapons (the Mule small shotgun, KT50 semi-automatic carbine, and A1M semi-automatic marksman rifle), new cosmetics, and a new MERX boss named the Oil Rig, a flame-throwing adversary designed to keep players constantly moving. Perhaps the most notable addition for the game's long-term health is the introduction of mod support. Players can now build custom maps and campaigns using Unreal Editor, then upload them directly to the Steam Workshop. Mods are automatically downloaded by anyone joining a modded host's session. The feature is a fitting nod to Crowbar Collective's roots as the volunteer team behind Black Mesa, the community-built remake of Valve's original Half-Life, and marks Rogue Point as the studio's first original IP as a full-time studio.

Fan Ports Half-Life to PS1 Using Rust, Awaits Valve's Blessing

A developer known as Bonnie Studios has pulled off a remarkable feat: porting Half-Life 1 to the original PlayStation. Rather than relying on an emulation layer, the developer built a custom renderer and game runtime from scratch using the Rust programming language, allowing Sony's first console to genuinely run Valve's landmark shooter. The results make it clear why Valve itself never attempted the port, as significant sacrifices in both graphics and performance were necessary to get the game running on the aging hardware at all.

GTA 6 Map Evidence Reportedly Found Hidden in GTA Online Painting

GTA fans are at it again, and this time they believe evidence of the GTA 6 map has been hiding in plain sight inside GTA Online. For the second time in a matter of weeks, eagle-eyed players claim to have spotted what looks like a outline of the upcoming game's map, this time tucked away inside an abstract painting found within GTA Online. The catch? You have to zoom in, crop, and rotate the image to see it, which has predictably divided the community between believers and skeptics.

Eli Roth Opens Up About the Borderlands Movie Disaster: 'It Belonged to Nobody'

Director Eli Roth has broken his silence on the catastrophic failure of the 2024 Borderlands movie, and his candid assessment isn't far off from what critics and audiences already concluded: the film simply didn't work. In a revealing new interview, Roth acknowledged the movie's shortcomings, summing up the core problem with a blunt diagnosis: "You got something that belonged to nobody." It's a remarkably self-aware admission from the director of a film that, despite boasting an A-list cast including multiple Oscar winners and the backing of one of gaming's most beloved franchises, managed to alienate fans and general audiences alike.

EA SPORTS FC 27's "The Grounds" Is a Bold New Social Hub for Football Fans

EA SPORTS FC 27 is shaking up the formula with a major new addition called The Grounds, an open-world social mode that has been compared to PlayStation Home for football fans. Described by the developers themselves as "one of our biggest reinventions in recent history," The Grounds blends casual and social gameplay into a shared space where players can hang out, compete, and experience football in a way that goes well beyond a traditional match. Early previews suggest it is a genuinely fresh take on what a football game can offer outside of its core modes.

$200 Joke Game Nearly Made a Teenage Dev a Millionaire on Steam

A teenage game developer named Michael Major created a barebones meme game called "This Game Costs 200 Dollars" in just a matter of days, listed it on Steam for the audacious price of $200, and watched in disbelief as it racked up nearly $1.4 million in gross sales. The premise was as simple as the price tag was absurd: the game does exactly what it says on the tin, costs $200, doesn't look particularly impressive, and exists largely as a joke. Yet somehow, a surprising number of players were willing to part with their money to be in on the gag.
